Seven (P. Aebischer-M. Bovay-P. Gasparini) / In God I Trust (P. Aebischer)
Layola L 17-216 MONO Single
Recorded: 1. August 1965 / Released: 1965
Classic first Sevens 2-sider from 1965 of top worldclass Euro beat punk! =their first recordings!! Seven is a crude organ punker, that I think most ? Mark And The Mysterians fans would probably dig. The flipside is a top-raving beat garage number. Both sides have long became classic cuts for cool modern garage bands of the last 20 years to cover. Euro beat garage champions The Thanes were the first modern garage band to record a raving coverversion of In God I Trust on a rare German 45, and Seven was covered most notoriously by the fantastic Lyres from Boston, Mass.
Few copies of this first Sevens 45 could be found with autographed picturesleeve!! This 45 actually came out shortly after Be My Loving Baby / The Love Of A Bird..

Be My Loving Baby (P. Aebischer-M. Bovay-P. Gasparini) / The Love Of A Bird (P. Aebischer)
Layola L 17-217 MONO Single
Recorded: 1. August 1965 / Released: 1965
The Sevens fantastic 2nd 2-sider actually came out first!! It was one of their best 2-siders! They are basicly the same recordings that could be found on the Sevens LP, except that the LP versions are in stereo, and that the 45s contain full mono mixes of the songs (=a completely different sound)!

Balla Balla (H. Lippok) / Ju-Ju Hand (D. Samudio)
Layola L 17-220 MONO Single
Recorded: late 1965 / Released: late 1965
The Sevens were forced by the Layola label to record this single. It probably predates The Rainbows version. Somehow, the producers at Layola Records got hold of a copy of the classic Rainbows recordings of the two tunes BEFORE they were released, and they (the producers) were sure that the two songs would soon become hits. Layola Records was also positive that The Sevens would possibly be landing the hit, if they were going to release their versions first (that is before The Rainbows). The Sevens never liked the idea to record the 2 two songs, but they´ve recorded them anyway. As we all know, The Rainbows version became a big hit, and the Sevens versions went almost unnoticed, so the producers were wrong. The credits on the blue Layola label were for some unknown reasons credited to The Sevens original name of Les Pirates. Few copies of the single were waxed up on the Orchestrola label with The Sevens moniker intact.

Little Girl I Know (R. Wittner / Arr.: P. Aebischer) / My Mother (P. Aebischer)
Layola L 17-221 Unreleased Single!
Shortly before Muggi left The Dynamites, he went to record 2 songs with The Dynamites at the Landgasthof Riehen for a Layola LP comp. of beat bands from Basel. The Dynamites contract with Layola records was cancelled in last instance, in favour to sing up with Columbia records, and The Dynamites version of Little Girl (a song written by The Dynamites themselves) recorded at the Landgasthof was never released. When Muggi left The Dynamites to team up with The Sevens, he simply took The Dynamites song with him, and since The Dynamites record of Little Girl had never happened, The Sevens simply decided to re-record the old Dynamites track with a different arrangement and title. My Mother is a super 60s garage uptempo vocal with frantic guitar and organ solo leads.
The unreleased test-pressing Single plays DIFFERENT TAKES of both songs!!

Little Girl I Know (Trad. / Arr.: P. Aebischer) / My Mother (P. Aebischer)
Layola L 17-221 MONO Single
Released: January 1966
Interesting fact is that the released versions have got a lot more PUNCH (and energy) as the versions on the unreleased test-single. Muggi was the lead vocalist on the A-side.

Various Artists - Schlagermarkt Der Grossen Hits
Elite Special SOLPS-280 STEREO 12" LP album
Released: 1966
Crummy comp. out of the house of Elite Special. Not one to be proud of either. It plays The Sevens version of Balla Balla, but the credits are actually given to somebody else. This LP was done without the bands knowledge. It was a cheap way to cash in on The Sevens.

Various Artists - Top Hits 66
Layola L 30-316 STEREO 12" LP album
Released: late 1966
Various Artists LP comp. including stereo-versions of The Sevens´ Balla Balla and Ju Ju Hand. False bandnames are given on the labels and backcover, The Sevens are not even mentioned. This is a rather crummy comp of mostly crappy German-sung Schlagers. This LP was done without the bands permission and is for hardcore Sevens completists only.

Various Artists - Siebzehn Jahr, Blondes Haar
Grammoclub Ex Libris SG 6511 STEREO 12" LP album
Released: late 1966
This LP has the ecact same contents and song order as Top Hits 66 on Layola, but the Ex Libris LP does at least have the artists and titles correctly listed on the cover and labels. This LP was reportedly done without the bands permission. It went unnoticed.
Collectors note: Beware of the Ex Libris LP Monja (EL 85001), because despite what the cover says, it does NOT play any songs by The Sevens. Both of these LPs were undoubtably made to cash in on The Sevens.
