We recorded 8, or 9 songs at a studio called The Bat Cave in N.Y.C. on 8 tracks, most of it was live with few overdubs. We
also put the cover together on our own accord. We then shopped
around for a record deal and awhile
After the tour we signed up with Relativity Records which is
an important record lable.
The "Stomp It" Single was recorded at about the same time we
recorded "Tiger Guitars." It only took us one or two tries to
get these songs down. This one we did live to 2 tracks.
Right after the summer of '85 we put out our own Single
"Ford" b/w "The Stroll" on Whap-A-Dang.
The first original song we played was "Never Coming Home,"
which is now out on a Compilation called Luxury Condos. I
don't like most of the songs on it, ours is the best.
I met Tim Warren through a friend when he was working at a
record shop who inturn introduced me to Chandler. He loved our
group, and decided to help us out and put a cut on one of his
comps. (editors note: Back From The Grave- Vol. 3 on Crypt
Records) That was our first vinyl ever.
Ira Kaplan (Egon Records) is the sound man at Maxwells,
and after seeing us play for the first time there, decided to put
out first Single out. He was there to record the Single along
with Dony Fury - who is the owner and engineer at Demo Demo, a
basement studio in Soho, where we recorded it.
On the cover we are jumping on a 6 foot pile of cow shit,
and on the back we're standing in the shit spreader. When Ira
recorded his Yo La Tengo thing, he asked me to do a little
Sax, and I did. I'm not part of his band.

I started to play Sax in June of '84. I started on an Alto
Sax until it was stolen, then I decided to buy a Tenor Sax
which I still play today. Mike Mariconda, along with guitar
plays Lap Steel, and Fiddle, plus Harp.
We're working on a licensing deal with European labels right
now for "El Rauncho Grande," so hopefully you will be able to
get it soon.
We have already recorded another album which will have 12
cuts on it, and will be called "Learn To Whap-A-Dang With The
Raunch Hands." This one was recorded on 12 tracks, but was
litterally put down live! We recorded it at a place in Long
Island called the Boogie Hotel. There we lived for 3 days. The
Boogie Hotel is a very large house with a studio on the first
floor. This album should be out in April, or May of this year
world wide!!
Gig wise, we just finished a mini tour down to Louisiana and
back. In 2 weeks we are going to do a 3 month tour of the US
and Canada!! There is talk of going to Europe this fall. It all
depends on how things go, so keep your fingers crossed.

The "Shake Em On Down" Radio show was a live over the air
show. There we played 4, or 5 songs accoustically over the air
(a very rare happening). Ed Numan put the show together.
