Hear Kapsers physical recovery and mental worsening demonstrated from primitive one-liners like She’s in love with the atom bomb and I don’t wanna live in the city to cruel and raunchy Rock and roll bashers as I’m gonna leave, Evil night or I like the way you cry. Sweet Power-Pop moments like Burn little girl show that there’s still life in this beaten up and wasted shell of a young man. Perfect mixture of wild ravin rnb, classic 60s pop, blues, soul, garage and mod beat that makes those misfit young folks so special. Genuinely disillusioned with the overall modern state of rock n roll, they create music that speaks their language. And if that language is from forty-five-odd years ago, so be it. The band offers heartbroken lyrics set to upbeat music, with drummer Shane Human peppering the songs with lively handclaps or a tambourine for percussive decoration. Their songs are catchy as hell and full of smooth guitar tones and pretty oo-wah harmonies. Chad Tollivers scratchy, vocals slightly modernize the tone, but the melodic riffs from guitarists Brian Roberts and Randy Michael bring it straight back to the 60s. Picture yourself at Pandoras Box seeing the CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND fronted by Mr. Wilson Pickett, or being at The Marquee Club in the early sixties listening to the STONES and Bo Diddley and thats what you get with THE BOOZE!

The Colors formed in 1978 when native New Yorkers Tommy Cookman (vocals) and Paul Sass (guitar) began playing together, they were joined in early 1979 by Australian bassist Robert Vickers. After playing a few shows they signed a management deal with CBGB and became the house band there. The classic power pop EP Rave It Up was released in 1980. Many great shows followed, opening for The Undertones, Eddie and the Hot Rods, The Plasmatics, etc. The Colors built a loyal and enthusiastic fanbase in New York and ventured out to tour the East Coast, Chicago and New Jersey. This anthology is a snapshot of that time of boundless youthful optimism in a bankrupt city on the edge of America. A true masterpiece. be fast to grab this piece of HISTORY!

Was ist das, you’re gonna ask puzzled and excited after listening to these Canadian fellas who hung out too much with their pals of the DEMONS CLAWS and LADIES NIGHT and finally decided to unleash their own vision of how to wreck music. The result is a pure distortion fest, a mean and noisy attack on everybody’s sensitivity, a spastic discharge of the most secret Trashpunk fantasies. Imagine BLACK TIME in a wild catfight with THE FATALS and you get the picture of this hell of a disturbing record. There even is an absolutely no-wave version of NO MORE’s Suicide commando at the end, as if the other 10 songs weren’t lethal enough! Future Dads, formed in 1981 after the split of legendary Boston punk band Unnatural Axe! They were influenced by The Ramones along with longtime heroes like The Modern Lovers and Lou Reed. The Dads gigged regularly at the Rat, the Channel, the Underground, Cantones, the Club, the Paradise, and the Inn-Square Men’s Bar on bills along with local bands and out-of-town acts like the Plimsouls, Plasmatics, Mo-dettes, Professionals, Wire Train, and Shrapnel. After recorded a great 45 and many other studio tracks, the band split up in 1982. So there you have it. A little snapshot in time, these songs provided the soundtrack for a ragged ride through the glory days of Boston’s underground rock scene fueled by alcohol, loud amps, and a love for rock and roll that is still with us today. Iron Virgin was a 70s glam proto punk band who were formed in Edinburgh, Scotland. Back in 1973, Decca assigned their best producer, Nick Tauber, who produced Thin Lizzy (The Boys Are Back in Town) and many others. to scour Scotland for a new band for the Deram (Decca) label. He came to a small town in Scotland to listen to the band and, at the end of the show, he said that this was the best live band he’d seen since The Move! So the band went down to London to record some demos in West Hampstead studio. Consequently, the band was signed to Decca Records, that released their great two singles, both classics for 70s UK rnr glam fans. This antholgy which contains also unreleased tracks is the definitive tribute to one of the best bands of that decade!!!

Behind this pumping menage a trois are no others than DIGGER AND THE PUSSYCATS Sam and Andy plus bass-monster Snoop Mitchell. The mates decided to give the duo a little rest and live out their fondness for independent music throwaways like THE WIPERS or Australian drunkrock acts like THE SCIENTISTS completely. From the bar room floors of inner city Melbourne they started to create an original sound fusing rock, punk, post-punk, pop and noise into an indescribable mash of genius. Their second longplayer is a noisy and damn melodic narcotic that sedates you with some driving drumming, fuzzy bass, a sweet and sour guitar and painful words from the bottom of lifes stairs that will make you weep and holler. The 10 songs range from faster ones like Are you going to the protest to slower tunes like Hear them coming and stoned psychedelic fuzzers like Send me a sign. But the real meat are those driving, gracefully distorted tracks, like the fantastic 7-to-1, I came so far to lose and Then I hit the ground whose melodic guitar lines and heartfelt vocals will drive you ape, or the 6-minute tranquilizer Long night that will leave you nothing but speechless and paralysed with its melody and soul.

Formed in 1978 and originally known as THE INDICATORS the band went on tour with the ANGELIC UPSTARTS where they attracted the attentions of Jimmy Pursey who signed the band to his JP Productions label and suggested a name change to LONG TALL SHORTY. Their debut single By Your Love that came out on the Warner Bros label was withdrawn with only 200 copies rumoured to be sold. The band’s second release Win Or Lose on the Ramkup label is one of the main collectables on the Mod / Punk collectors circuit and now regularly fetches up to 100.00 Pounds in the UK. The band’s last gig was held at the 100 Club on 2nd February 1982. Now, what we have here is an extensive over-view of the bands career from 1978-1985. The first disc features the album that the band recorded for Warner Bros back in 1979 that was to be 1970s Boy but was withdrawn at the last minute - a real treat in itself! The second disc features rare and previously unreleased tracks from the band’s history and is a great insight for fans into some great recordings. Also featured is the rare single Anti CND that the band released under the name JOE PUBLIC for fear of a backlash!! This is a great package with heaps of rare photos and liner notes by LONG TALL SHORTY’s lead singer and guitarist Tony Perfect (=pre ANGELIC UPSTARTS), and Eddie Piller

Moderate Rock is damn sure the last to expect from the first full-length album by this almost all-female quartet from Vancouver, BC. This is compressed teenage angst that has been brewing in an imposed social boiler for far too long and now gushes out in nine abrasive and unpolished hardcore punk blasts that deal with pill-popping ravers (Fuck that), being raised and stepping out of line (Resuscitate), the drag of waiting at airports (Airport violence) and lots of honest and pissed-off personal matters, like worthless friendships, conformable behaviour or just staying young and dumb. All that is spewed out in a whirlwind of fucks by singer Juls throaty and over-the-top voice and backed with stomping, fast and simple beats and a scratching, overwinded guitar. Comparisons to a female version of BRUTAL KNIGHTS are definitely not too far-fetched, though these kids obviously lean more on the new wave of DIY hardcore punk.

Small Hours were a band with a mighty fine pedigree - they were formed by ex SAINTS and LURKERS bassist
Kym Bradshaw. The band soon found themselves at the forefront of the 1979 Mod Revival scene - their
tight Memphis rnb / Stax organ, and almost SAINTS like powerpop sound setting them apart from the New
Wave / Jam sounding contemporaries such as The Chords and The Purple Hearts. The Small Hours put
out their only release - the Small Hours 10 inch and 7 inch EP (which now fetches 50 pounds and more in the UK) on the Automatic
label. By 1981 it was sadly all over for the band, leaving behind just the one EP and several compilation
appearances. This brilliant release includes all their recorded output - including previously unreleased
singles and demo tracks. It’s a stunning reminder of the power of the band and a great blast from
beginning to end.
