Mr. Urs M. Osann works as an independent Consultant since 1998.
His former position was with the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) which he was associated with for more than 26 years. In his capacity as head of systems development and IT operations he was a key architect in UBS's systems strategy and it's strive towards an open systems environment. He has held that position since 1989 which included line responsibility for more than 1000 IT professionels. Prior to that, Mr. Osann carried various management assignments in the DP systems departement and internal auditing. He was instrumental in the first design of the integrated banking system ABACUS which is still today UBS's core retail banking system, and in introducing state-of-the-art information technology to the UBS branch in New York City.
His previous career in data processing was with Sperry Corporation (UNISYS) where he held a number of appointments, including the project management of one of the first large real time projects in Switzerland and a management position in the government business branch.
Mr. Osann holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and the Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.
